I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at AIA Group (Kuala Lumpur) in May 2026
Interview
I applied for a Business Analyst role through Avow Technology for their AIA client.
The interview was originally scheduled at 11am, but was rescheduled to 10.30am at the last minute. The interviewer did not turn on her camera, but asked me to turn on mine. She also did not provide a job description beforehand.
During the interview, she criticized my self‑introduction, saying the sequence was “not good” and that I sounded like I was “talking to a friend.” When she asked if I had any questions and I asked one, she replied that I was “not qualified” and didn’t need to ask.
The whole experience felt very unprofessional and disrespectful. An interview should be a two‑way conversation, not a one‑sided judgment.
I hope the company will improve their interview process — at least by providing a JD, turning on the camera, and respecting candidates’ basic right to ask questions.
