      Marine Biologist Interview

      25 May 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at A.I.S. (Boston, MA) in Mar 2023

      Interview

The interview itself was pleasant and they provide very specific situations that allow the potential employee to understand the actual difficulties of the job. However, I did find the interview to be rather impersonal. The interviewer spoke as if they expected the employee not to want the job after they described the more complex aspects of the position. Which, given that I also found myself not interested in the position after the interview may be a common experience for them. I think they would have fewer applicants declining the position if they were more descriptive about the position in their listing rather than providing all the information within the interview. I, myself, thought I was applying for a very different position prior to the interview due to the lack of specificity in the job description.
