      Front-End Engineer Interview

      23 Dec 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Vancouver, BC
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 7Geese (Vancouver, BC) in Dec 2017

      Interview

The first step was pretty much same as the previous post. I had a phone screen with a senior front-end developer. He asked me some questions about my experience and then I shared my screen to do a coding question. The coding question was not hard and it was about medium level Leetcode question. The interviewer said I could use brute force but I did not attempt to do that way. Eventually I did not finish coding but I shared my steps to solve the problem. A week after, I was invited to have the in-person interview. In-person one was 3 rounds. The first round was doing a small ReactJS project pairing with another developer. It was pretty easy. The second round was some questions about my experience and some simple JavaScript coding questions. The last round was really interesting. There were two developers and one of them was pretty fun and humor. This round I could not count it in an interview but more like chatting with friends. The whole process was really relaxing and topics covered lots of different areas. Then after they gave me a coding question. The question, generally speaking, was not that easy and I just knew it was a hard level Leetcode question. However the interview one was much simpler than the one on Leetcode. I almost did one-time pass except some typos and hopefully my solution could be a sample solution in future if they tested other candidates through this coding question :-) (Some background about myself. I used to attend international programming contest a few times and I have done 150+ Leetcode questions. 7Geese coding questions are around easy to average if you have done some similar questions) A few days after the in-person interview, I was invited to attend the last round on the interview process, which was to chat with their CEO or director. Unfortunately, because of personal reason, I could not move forward to next step. In total, I met five people at 7Geese. They are all really friendly and smart. I can see the company has really great culture and market potential in both short term and long term. The office location is fantastic and the view is awesome from the window. I will most certainly be applying again in the future for senior position.
