I had a phone interview with the hiring manager on a Friday afternoon around 2pm. The interview lasted for almost 45 minutes and I thought everything went well. At the end of the call, the HM said he had two more interviews the following week and I would hear back from them after they were all completed.
Instead, I woke up on Monday morning with a rejection email in my inbox at exactly 6:00am that wasn't even personalized with my name or any of my info. When I reached out to their HR rep, I got an out-of-office message saying she was on vacation. I then sent an email to the HM, thanking him for his time and asking for any feedback regarding why I was rejected. I never heard back from either one of them.
It's obvious the HM had no intention of giving me an offer and had HR schedule an automated email immediately after my interview ended. Glad I dodged a bullet of having to work with a spineless coward for a boss.
