      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at 3S Enterprises (Rockville, MD) in Jan 2015

      Interview

The interview process was relaxed and thorough. I received a call after applying online for the position. The secretary I spoke with was very nice although she did seem to be in a bit of a rush. Due to the previous reviews here on glass door I was skeptical but decided I should check it out myself. I was able to schedule a first round the next day where I met with one of the hiring managers. The first interview was pretty quick, 10 maybe 15 minutes. Most of the questions were basic trying to get to know me better, seeing if my personality would fit in with the company. I was offered a second round interview which was conducted outside the office at Starbucks. There I sat down with an assistant manager and got a thorough break down of their management training program. The second interview was very relaxed and allowed me to ask any questions I had. When we got back to the office they had me fill out of quick questionnaire and told me I would have another chance to sit with the hiring manager. However he was in a meeting so they told me they would contact me in the next few days if they decided to move forward with the interview process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What goals did I have? What qualities separate me from other candidates? What are some qualities I would want from a coach?

      Account Manager Interview

      3 Feb 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at 3S Enterprises in Dec 2014

      Interview

I received a call shortly after putting my resume online. Over the phone they asked about my previous work history and if sales would be something that I'm interested in and invited me in for a interview the very next day. Their offices are just outside their target hiring demographic so it can be it bit out of the ways for people to get to the location. I arrived to a older but still charming office building and met directly with the CEO of the company. We talked about my works history, personal background, schooling and what I want my future to be. He then explained that they are a sales company trying to get customers to be interested in the products they offer being from a cable plan to home phone service. He also explained that they only promote people from within the company and that growth and work benefits were included in the position. that anything from handbags to basketball tickets would be rewarded for my sales. Because they like to keep growth within the company it is very social orientated workplace. This interview took about 10 minutes total.I was told that after I would receive a call for a second interview in person but with a manager member. At this second interview it was very busy in the office as many people were coming in for their first and second interview for the same position I was going for. I assumed that because they were so fast moving people in and out of the first interview that the position was to be very competitive and that people would be eliminated after the first or second interview. The second interview was not onsite but at a local deli. They asked about my knowledge in sales. Then took a look at my resume and ask me about if i had any related sales jobs. Then they explained direct and indirect marketing and they they are direct sales based off commission. The sales manager I had my interview with took my resume and wrote on the back of it the commission rate for each position. The more you sell the product the more you move up to a new position and make more. It sounded very similar to a pyramid scheme not a sales position how they had described to be in the first interview. it was also explained to me that I would be "in the field" every morning going door to door selling cable to people and that each day I needed to sell a certain amount. For example on Saturdays would be a "power day" only to make 3 sales then after a group social time from a bar to a restaurant. As well that I would only make money if i made sales or base pay in addition to my door to door sales.

If you have time to discuss this further, I would like to get to the bottom of how this interview happened and left you feeling unsure of any aspect of our company. Occasionally we have people who are new to the role of conducting interviews, because we are a management training program. I would like to learn who conducted your interview so that we may better train them. Please contact me at HR@3SDCMETRO.COM to set up a time to talk. A few points: 1. We do have base pay, and commission as well. 2. We are happy to answer any questions you have directly. 3. We have expanded from 8 people in 2012 to have over 300 people with 8 senior partners, all of whom started entry-level - so I believe that would qualify as career growth. 4. Over 90% of our team is college-educated 5. At the end of 2014 we generated a gross profit of 3.2 million in revenue for our clients. 6.We strongly stand by Direct Marketing, it is the most effective way to reach the growth we have been sustaining 7. 2015 we will be expanding into 4 new locations 8. The business we’re running is a true meritocracy. Simply put, when you develop and perform well, you advance. Our people advance—without exception—based purely on the results they generate for the business. Age and tenure are meaningless measures at our company. Hard work speaks volumes at our company. 9. And yes the pay structure is based off hard work, 10. And yes we do give out incentives if that's what you mean by materials, like tickets to NFL,NBA,NHL or Soccer games, and we have started going to college games as well now. We like to have a lot of fun at our company. 11. We were nominated Best Place to Work 2 years in row, and going for a third, so we highly doubt the "Washington Business Journal" would be part of a pyramid scheme or associate themselves with one. 12.Its very easy to judge from the outside, and not knowing full details unless you work here ,but we care about our people in this company, and helping them reach goals whether it be with our company or learning what they need to learn from our company to take with them to another career so they can advance and be very successful. 13. In this company we are very passionate about helping our clients, customers, and the people within this firm. And we stand by what we do 120% because we have a very high success rate for those that our willing to put there work ethic on the line, who share the same core values as we do. The candidates we choose to work with will grow in this firm very rapidly and as long as they are willing to work hard in order to grow. we do not believe in stagnation, we believe in fast growth and personal development.
