Lots of finger pointing, ego and greed to be a called "family."
Pros
Some coworkers are fantastic. Traveling can be fun in short periods of time, but you have little to no personal time on the road. Sun up to sun down is working or traveling for work. Some departments working towards employees professional development through various means, big positive. If you like cars, this again can be cool for short term. Often you are too busy to enjoy many "cool" aspects of this job like "travel" and the cars.
Cons
Very "profit driven" since covid, not a lot of care for employees by most leaders. Not competitive wages in the slightest. Long hours on "OT exempt" salary (according to HR. However a mechanic is specifically stated as a job that is non-exempt for OT on a federal level under FLSA. A mechanic is not an EAP. It literally outlines this). No pay for extra hours worked. Sometimes 100 hour weeks including travel. Sometimes ridiculing employees to their face when complaints are brought up or raises are asked for, even with only positive reviews of said employee. Lack of clarity from higher ups. Lack of leadership "understanding the problems." Frivolous spending in some aspects and then unsatisfactory funding provided to some aspects. Lack of accountability for higher ups not meeting deadlines/needs that in turn make the lives of lower job level employees harder.
