What is the salary like at Wolt?

      Wolt reviews

Work culture not worth interesting work

      Product lead
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good pay, good flexibility on remote work, interesting problems, nice colleagues

      Cons

Product leadership: aggressive and gaslighty micromanagement. Questionable sexism in product org with no managerial promotion opportunities for women even after top performance reviews, despite watching our male colleagues be promoted. Even with consistently high overtime I was never able to meet demands, and there was no willingness to have a discussion on how to make workload more manageable.

      Overall great workplace

      Senior data analyst
      Current employee
      Berlin
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good culture and good pay for the market. Strong 4 month parental leave benefit as a global policy. 30 days vacation. Allow experimentation and independence in role.

      Cons

Lacks some of the ancillary benefits that might be common at other German companies (bike lease, more than minimum transport contribution, etc.)

      High workload and late shifts

      Support associate
      Former employee
      Budapest
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Friendly, supportive colleagues and a good team vibe

      Cons

Poor salary, heavy workload, no home office option, and shift work including very late nights

      Okay for a few months

      Call center agent
      Former employee
      Belgrade, Central Serbia
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good team, polite team leaders, taxi paid by the company

      Cons

They do ask for a lot of your time and the salary isn't as good as supposed to be for this amount of work. It's very demanding mentally - the customers are angry, rude, and they can humiliate you all they like, you can't do anything about it...

Good pay, but bad management and no room for growth

      Senior software engineer
      Former employee
      Helsinki, Southern Finland
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The salary is competitive and the work is flexible

      Cons

The company is growing fast but has poor foundations. The product definitions are lacking, formal tech leadership positions are missing in some teams, and there are no clear and/or capable DRIs for critical work. Developers are expected to fill the gaps that management and leadership should be covering. Blame tends to go down instead of up, and when incidents happen, the juniors involved can end up taking the hit even when other engineers and managers missed the same things. Probation gets mentioned repeatedly like a threat instead of a normal growth period, and if you point out structural problems, don't expect them to be welcomed. There are not enough safeguards either. Critical work can depend on one person, and when something breaks or said person has an issue, it tends to get treated as their fault instead of a system failure. On top of that, unless you hold a high seniority position like staff, there is no equity, no RSUs, or bonuses to make up for it. If you are a foreign hire, you might find yourself held to standards that others are not, and HR does not always follow through on what they promise.

      Former employee

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      Cons

Lower Salary Compared to similar roles in other industries or larger corporations, the salary might feel less competitive, especially given the high energy and effort required in a fast-paced environment. High Workload Startups and fast-growing companies like Wolt often demand a lot from their employees, which can lead to feeling stretched thin during busy periods. Pressure to Perform Since your role directly impacts partner and customer satisfaction, there can be significant pressure to meet targets and maintain quality service.
