Pros
- Flexible schedule
- Company Car
- Work from Home
- Love the Mission, A World without fear of Cancer.
- Local and Regional Management are great in some areas, not all.
- Great Remote Tools
Cons
- Varian was customer/patient 1st at any cost. Siemen's is profits 1st at any cost. Many front line employees are upset and looking at options outside of Siemen's. Benefits cost more and are worse. Personal out of pocket on Company car costs more but if you don't use it for Personal use, too bad, no refunds.
- Parts have been a joke since Covid but seems like little to nothing being done about it.
- Overtime being tracked and constantly being told to work less while selling customer's contracts guaranteeing 98% uptime and unlimited service hours.
- Most FSE's need overtime to pay day to day living expenses but company restricting overtime to save money, while they're raised contract pricing 4 times in the last 3 years.
- We release systems full of known issues (bugs) then sell upgrades as the solution instead of resolving the issue for the product the customer purchased.
- HR department is an absolute joke. Went to new payroll system in December. Took the payroll system down for the whole month over Christmas and had to "estimate" paychecks. W2's didn't arrive until February and we've received 3 W2 corrections since. Last correction came in June, 2 months after tax filing deadlines.
Many people were overpaid in February, company had to hire a 3rd party to figure out how much and what went wrong.
HR puts out every 2 weeks "We've successfully completed x# of payrolls" since the new system went live but paystubs are confusing and when people submit tickets about them, the tickets are either cancelled without resolution or just responded to that your paycheck is correct.
- Upper level management feels completely disconnected from the mission.
-Monthly Survey's that mean nothing. If you complain about upper management or company direction, they flip it to be a problem with front line management.
- Maintenance typically overdue, nobody held accountable.
