This company could be a great place to work but once you get to a certain point in your career there’s very little opportunity for advancement and progression.
However, the training is great and there is plenty of support for Managers available if not too much red tape at times
Cons
You have to constantly fight for anything and you have to consistently challenge those in senior leadership to listen which they often don’t.
Hotel Managers work harder and longer hours then any other employee of Travelodge yet you are rewarded with less than base rate pay rises(if you are lucky) almost impossible bonus targets and very little actual recognition for the jobs HMs actually do.
We hear constantly about how well the company is doing yet the company pays more attention and gives more recognition to its non-management staff than it does for its Managers.
Many people are proud to achieve a position like being a Hotel Manager but for those of us who want to progress further our opportunities are limited unless you are willing to pack up and move closer to head office. Even hybrid roles mean you must be at head office at least 3 days a week at your own expense which makes the whole process pointless. And even if you are lucky enough for a position to become available as a company wishing to grow, bring in different skills sets and experience you are likely to be overlooked.
Yet you dare not challenge them on because the moment you do you can go from being Manager of the Year to being cast aside like yesterday’s newspaper and if you have really pushed the narrative with those above you find yourself being performance managed out of the business.

They have outsourced all IT to India. The English of the employees in India is consistently poor and the work is low quality.
