What is the salary like at THG Studios?

Incredible team of creatives to work with A great studio space

The company doesn't care about it's staff. The merging and demerging from THG made everything so much worse. I was there for over 6 years and at the start it was great, but since Project Birnam came into effect it was ruined. Internal clients are nightmares, there is no transparency on anything, they don't listen to the issues raised by the actual employees, the studio doesn't know how to get new clients, the pay isn't enough for the amount of work you are expected to do, no one appreciates the creative work done within the studio - internal clients, or SLT in the whole business.

Slightly above average salary. The on-site canteen and shop (even though they are obviously there for a profit, not as a perk. You don’t even get coffee or tea for free - absolute bare minimum stuff that)

Honestly the worst place I’ve ever worked (and I’ve had a lot of jobs). I didn’t even want to take this job because of all the reviews I saw - I should have trusted my intuition. It’s full of people with no emotional intelligence, compassion or soul. Very cliquey, cold, there is no sense of team. From day one, I overheard dozens of people talking in the lifts/corridors/kitchens about how they long for redundancy, wished they had taken a different job years ago, and upcoming interviews they have. It’s a huge, corporate red flag. Discrimination is rife. It really felt like I’d stepped back in time to the good old days when CEO’s saw you as just a number, and the biggest perk was just being grateful to have a job. For a company of that size, there seems to be no structure or organisation. You’re a burden to management the second you walk in, and are expected to just fall into the role. As long as you’re bolshy (borderline rude) and know how to play the game, intelligence or ability doesn’t seem to matter too much. Long story short, it’s a miserable place to be, there is nothing fun or inspiring about it, people will look through you unless you’re someone “important”

Top Senior Management weren't great A lot of people left due to wages being capped and bonuses for all staff being removed from your pay slip, you suddenly lost 4-5k from your annual wages. We had a Creative team of 450 people in THG Studios and they still outsourced the rebrand to another agency. Wasted money on big gorillas.

There is some very talented and lovely people at the studios.

Constant lies. Gaslighting. Toxic culture. No flexible working. No bonuses. No compassionate leave. Male toxicity. Favouritism. Awful management. Unfair pay. Horrible stuffy working environment. Overall poor treatment of people.

You get close to those suffering alongside you.

I've never known a company have so many ex staff leaving with NDAs, which says it all really. There are some horror stories, and many have wanted to take the business to court but haven't had the finances or mental strength to fight. There have been, and are, some serious HR failings. The studio business model is also failing in general and supported only by other Ingenuity work. Often we accept the lowest rate and then the teams have to pick up the pieces, all whilst being constantly asked why it's all going wrong.. Efficiency isn't rewarded, instead your timesheets are questioned and then redundancies are made. I wouldn't recommend unless you're fresh out of uni and looking to learn by being dropped in at the deep end,
