Pros
- Nice office. - Great colleagues and social. - Decent benefits. - Perhaps good-enough as a short first job to break into the cyber-security market. - You learn quite a lot about the free open-source software industry. - You get a good overview of software vulnerabilities but with nothing in-depth.
Cons
- After the initial learning curve the vast majority of the job becomes extremely repetitive. Wouldn't do this job for more than a year. - The hiring stage leads you to believe it's going to be a highly technical job with a lot of technical skills advancement, while in reality you spend 99% of your time writing fairly basic cyber security advisories and combing through commit history on GitHub. - No salary review/raise. - Mostly learning non-marketable skills.
