What is the hiring process like at Shoppers Drug Mart?

Minimal, easy, quick interview process.

Often have to deal with weird company policies and rules that affect customers, often leading to conflict at customer service.

Training and interview process went smoothly, work environment was as expected for a customer service role

Gossip, some coworkers are passive aggressive

Fellow employees were friendly, made the job more bearable.

My experience was not the best, they gave me a relatively hard time during my tenure. I'm sure things have changed.

The people were nice, or maybe I was just naive.

They required me to work for two weeks without compensation as part of the interview process. Originally, the arrangement was supposed to be a one-day assessment to evaluate my ability to pick up tasks after receiving a brief training. However, there was no training provided, and instead, I was assigned to handle customers, fill prescriptions, and manage inventories. The pharmacist openly mentioned that there was another individual undergoing the same unpaid work for a month, and I should do the same. I had to stop coming in when asked to address insurance issues without any training. Being a recent university graduate with no prior job experience, I felt taken advantage of due to my desperation. The agreed-upon salary was $15 per hour, which was the minimum wage at that time, and they were reluctant to even provide that minimal compensation.

easygoing (customers and staff); straightforward work - just ask questions when needed, EVEN when u feel annoying as this makes it easier for u and everyone else; discount is better than paying regular price; and finally (in my experience), management is kind and understanding! i'd recommend this to any 16 y/o as a first job as someone who was able to land a position here at 16 and stayed during my post-secondary years, but stay tuned for cons ;-;

management styles can vary and may affect ur area of work, miscommunication happens too often due to nobody speaking up or at all, understaffed in some areas that employees will often wear many hats ._. among other things. i personally have no complaints, but these are what i remember overhearing in my break room and over time.

1. I worked at a different location than where I initially interviewed (L1berty v1llag3, Toronto). 2. As part of the interview process, I was asked to work without pay. They wanted to assess how quickly I learn during training, but no training was provided. Instead, I was immediately thrown into work, dealing with patients. This lasted about a month before I stopped showing up. The pharmacist blatantly told me there was another person going through the same experience.

I liked getting free products and commission

My boss was so wild.
