Thank you for leaving us this review. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. We work very hard to maintain our place as the industry leader and strive to always be competitive in every market. I hope you were also able to take advantage of some of ScribeAmerica’s other amazing benefits including employee discounts on things like computers, Kaplan prep courses, and even on Lyft.

      Pros

The position is straightforward and offers excellent benefits, including vision, dental, health, pet, life, and disability insurance. Additionally, there is an employee assistance program. They also provide a "pay as you work" app, allowing you to access your earnings the day after you work, if needed. Great work/life balance.

      Cons

Low pay even as a trainer I only receive $12 per hour, no bonus, no holiday pay, very little PTO, and lucky to get 10 hours in 2 weeks around the holidays as full-time employee, only get paid bi-weekly,

      Flexibility & Experience

      Medical scribe ambassador
      Current employee
      Mesa, AZ
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

This job offers amazing experience. Working one-on-one with a provider builds your medical knowledge and helps prepare you for whichever route you want to go on, whether you are pre-nursing, pre-med, etc. Where I scribe, there is great flexibility for scheduling, allowing you to work while in school which is much appreciated.

      Cons

The biggest downside is the pay -- the pay is close to minimum wage with very little opportunity to move up/get raises. The only raise possible is if you promote to chief scribe. I only make a dollar more an hour when I am training. Other than that, I love who I work with and love the opportunity. I recognize this is a job focused on experience rather than pay.
