What is a typical working day like at SSM Health?

Great team, friendly coworkers and solid shift supervisors

Upper management is nonexistent, they do not have Field Training Officers for new hires, they do not have a clinical manager to promote Quality Improvement which is a crucial part of an EMS system. Their protocols haven't been updated in years causing a legal issue with the national standards, and the paramedics are operating off of word of mouth from field supervisors. As a professional, I would avoid this place for EMS work because working for them is a huge liability. A hiring bonus and sandwiches in the break room is not motivation enough to risk my license.

medical field was not for me, pay for a phlebotomist in general (not just SSM) should absolutely be higher, you can tell there's a lot of burnout and high turnaround here among the phleb team
