Pros
discount of store brand food
Cons
bad management, low pay, high cost of insurance, high employee turnover rate, no room for advancement
Pros
The pay isn't too bad for a student employee, better than most places in the same area.
Cons
This was the cap on a supervisor role and I had been told there would be no more raises available on the position. Not as doable for an income nowadays.
Pros
Flexible hours, great management, decent pay, great coworkers
Cons
Repetitive work, lots of standing
Pros
Good pay, flexibility for additional work during most seasons. No touch freight.
Cons
Schedule stinks with no end in sight no matter how much seniority you have. You need over 15 years to get the weekends off at a decent start time.
Pros
Good pay and overtime pay
Cons
Can be long hours. Don’t know when you’ll get off
Pros
Good team leaders, good pay
Cons
Long shifts, short breaks, lonely
Pros
Weekly Pay, that's about it. Only work here if you want the bag and in the process of finding a new job to replace this one.
Cons
No room for growth, pure dead end job for people to sell their souls to if they have no place to go. From managers talking about you behind your back to lazy workers who like to hide in stalls for 20-30 minutes periodically and make you do all the work, this place holds the lolcow for things that go wrong in a retail store nowadays. VERY obnoxious produce manager will do anything in his way to rat you out or tell you what to do even if they are or not in your department. Rumors go around about the boss of the store yelling at the managers from time to time and being told from managers verbatim that they get paid less than the actual workers like what? In what world does this happen where the people that run your lines in the store and managing the workflow of others come in so often than the actual employees, do the most, and still get underpaid? You think I would want to become a manager under your supervision and get the same treatment? Stop playing Monopoly with your people before you wind up having no houses (employees), and go bankrupt (no good roster and constant turnover) like right now. You get people applying for interviews then get shut down with laughter when you tell them your poor salary range. They can literally work at McDonalds and still get a better wage, it's not hard and you guys are losing people every single month when I go in the store to check things out. It's no longer the same Meijer and soon or later you'll see less and less employees still working there, majority are starting to retire especially on the grocery side, and the managers are looking for new fresh talent to replace them so you can pick up their slack, do not do it or you will be disappointed.
Pros
Good pay and a lot of food for break time.
Cons
Na Na Na Na Na
Pros
Good pay, flexible work hours
Cons
Job was busy at times.
Pros
Flexible Schedule. Usually easy to get more hours. Used to have a rewards app for amount of hours worked not sure if they still do. Mostly genuinely friendly coworkers. Quota mostly doesn't matter you can take your time as long as %90 of the work is completed that night. - The managers are actually decent people and will help you if you ask.
Cons
- Received no training, and the ones above will complain. - If you tell them something specific about your schedule you will have to remind them. - Was understaffed. - Extremely disorganized. If you finish early and have to go through the backed up work good luck. - You have to go through a different team in the back (blocking your area) and they will make you feel like you are in their way when they are. - If you need help you definitely have to ask, and may have to go through a few people for proper help. - It appears there is no real opportunity for promotions. Most people that wanted more were going to the corporates side after while of working their old position. - They say you can take your time but sometimes you may feel the pressure to move faster. - Communication needs improvement. - The employee workday portal needs massive improvement. - Although pay is good, it was too low for the changing times, and no offers were made to earn more. - Payment was broken/delayed for a week or two.
