Pros
I’ll be a lifelong Helzberg customer, they have wonderful products, and you get a great discount on everything as an employee.
Cons
They pay minimum wage (or a dollar or 2 above it) but expect top results while paying a “commission” that should be a joke from a comedy routine. Comission rate was never discussed during my interview process other than “that’s where you make the money”. It’s my fault for not asking, but I was APPALLED when I found out. They give you HALF OF A PERCENT until you meet your monthly goal (typically upward of $40,000+) and then you have 1% for everything above that. Calling that a commission is insulting when I’m being paid minimum wage but expected to push the most expensive products, gather clients for shows, be aware of my surroundings at all times, sell their credit card, sell their warranty, add on extra products, spend time with the client in front of me but not too much time, get extra repair dollars, etc. There’s absolutely no incentive in half of a percent. Store management was poor, regional management was wonderful.
