What are pay raises like at Dollar Tree?

      Dollar Tree reviews

      Cashier review

      Sales associate/cashier
      Current employee
      Spokane, WA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good first time job. Flexible working hours.

      Cons

Very little upward momentum, even the managers are paid poorly. No opportunity for pay raise based on acquired time or skill.

      Awesome co-workers/management, but typical customers

      Stocker
      Current employee
      Ogden, UT
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

▪︎ The manager is the chillest and most upstanding, and understanding guy you could ever dream of having ▪︎ Music is allowed ▪︎ Co-workers are just as upstanding and kind as manager

      Cons

▪︎ Its not ALL customers, but they can occasionally be unbearable at times (i.e. they might treat you less than human) ▪︎ No opportunities for pay raise

      My Time at Dollar Tree

      Sales associate/cashier
      Current employee
      Boise, ID
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The People (Hopefully chill) Smaller Store = Easier to remember where things are

      Cons

Manager literally said there are no pay raise opportunities besides promoting to assistant manager or better. The Pay (at the time for me 2017-2021, it was 7.25. COVID came and it went up to $12, but then it went back to minimum wage after it was deemed safe to not wear masks) The Amount of People who call out and quit on the spot Be prepared to be asked for double shifts. Inventory is a mess(literally got too many of a product every week and no space in the back and in store to put it. Therefore it created a problem with the amount of boxes stacked in the back; so much that OSHA was on our behind for like a year)

      Business outlook

      Pros

The district manager and store management is great

      Cons

Supposed to get a yearly pay raise but don't Corporate expects management and employees to do a lot during a shift even the store is busy during rush hour Hours are crap

      Room for improvement

      Asm- assistant store manager
      Former employee
      Auburn, IN
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      Coworkers, managers work well together,

      Cons

No hours for full crew, increasing work requirements but no pay increase, no follow through, no communication with upper management, no work life balance

      Don't.

      Associate
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

It depends entirely on who your manager is and who your coworkers are if one or both of those are terrible you'll hate working here

      Cons

You only get minimum wage raise are an absolute joke and this company is a parasite once they raised prices and added things that were more than a dollar it was over I hope this terrible company fails

      Only part time available

      Assistant manager
      Former employee
      Sapulpa, OK
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good stepping stone to get your foot in the door or get your feet wet if your looking to get into management

      Cons

Low pay, no benefits unless your the store manager, rarely room for advancement and no raises.

      Cashier/sale associate

      Pros

Finally nh got a pay raise for dollar tree

      Cons

Lots of hard work and fast moving job

      Worst ever

      Assistant manager
      Former employee
      Flower Mound, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

you can get the experience and go elsewhere where you're appreciated

      Cons

Low pay, no raises, over worked, no support

      Basic position

      Cashier
      Former employee
      Greenville, SC
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Fellow employees were wonderful. Manager always had the employees backs when customers were rude.

      Cons

Very low pay, low chance of raises because it has to be approved by GM. Cancelled items count against you. So if someone decided they don’t want something or they don’t have the money to pay after it’s been scanned it doesn’t look good for you.
