Today we release a record breaking set of result Christmas results for Jollyes. We delivered a 31% increase in sales verses last year with LFL stores delivering 19% growth year on year for the 4 weeks trading up until 31st December. On Friday 23rd December another record was broken we served 38,000 customers in store the equivalent to one sale every 75 seconds. Our CEO Joe Wykes said “I want to give all our colleagues a massive thank you for their hard work serving customers this Christmas. We had a record-breaking Christmas because we have the best people in pet retailing.” A huge thank you to all of our colleagues and supplier partners for helping us to deliver these fantastic results.
At Jollyes we are excited to start the new year with a brand new store opening in Peterborough on 28th January. And in typical Jollyes fashion we are opening with another first, bringing "Pet Proms" to Peterborough. We will be serenaded by Gabriella Pineda-Rodrigues who will be officially opening the store with some fantastic songs which are sure to include some ‘Pooch-ini’ as well as some classics like "Everybody wants to be a cat" from Aristocats. She will be accompanied by her Cockerpoo Scamp. In addition we will also be welcoming Deputy Mayor Nick Sandford and Deputy Mayoress Alderman Bella Saltmarsh. We are very excited to start helping the pet parents of Peterborough- see you there on 28th!

Here at Jollyes we are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted in the Retail Week awards for Best Retailer under £250m. We are incredibly proud to see the hard work and dedication which all our colleagues have put into our business being recognised by the industry. A huge thank you to all of our colleagues, the nomination is down to you we are excited to hear the results on 30th March.
Last week was a huge week for Jollyes as we opened up 2 brand new stores in Edinburgh and Llanelli. In Edinburgh, as part of our partnership with Edinburgh Trams we ran a special "pet friendly" tram from St Andrew's Square to Edinburgh "Bark" station to be greeted by Louise Marshall who piped the customers to the new store and we were also collecting money for Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home charity who joined us to officially open the store. In Llanelli we were joined by Chair and Consort of Carmarthenshire County Council, Councillor Rob and Mrs Nysia Evans with West Wales poundies dog rescue and a live broadcast from Radio Carmarthenshire! A huge well done to everyone who help to launch the store an amazing team effort!
oday we are pleased to announce record sales at Jollyes in our half year trading results up until 27th November. We have seen sales grow 23% versus last year to £53.2 million and we are on track for our busiest Christmas yet. Our colleagues have served over 3m customers in the first half of the year and our loyalty scheme PetCLUB has seen membership increase 16%. Our customers are loving our own brand food with sales of our Lifestage dog food rising 70% and our McIntyres food brand is now drives more sales for us than Pedigree. As the Pet People we know our colleagues make a difference and at the half year we have grown our colleague numbers in the business to 983 we expect to be at 1000 colleagues early in the new year. We thank all of our amazing colleagues across the business, supplier partners, customers and their pets for our results and we are excited to continue our growth for the rest of the financial year!
A very busy week for Jollyes, we have 2 store openings this week one in Edinburgh on Friday 9th and one in Llanelli on Saturday 10th. We welcome our new manager Sadie who will be heading up the team and who will be officially opening the store with West Wales poundies dog rescue who will be brining Mabel who is searching for a forever home as well as Chair and Consort of Carmarthenshire County Council, Councillor Rob and Mrs Nysia Evans. A huge thank you to our colleagues and of course supplier partners for all their hard work with both stores!
Yesterday our CEO Joe Wykes unveiled Jollyes partnerships with Edinburgh Trams and Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home to support our new store opening at Hermiston Gait in Edinburgh on Friday 9th December. As part of the partnership, we wrapped an iconic Edinburgh Tram and also renamed Edinburgh Park station to "Edinburgh Bark" for the month of December. We will also be supporting Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home with donations of food to help this amazing cause.
