Pros

Good staff discount, Nice people to work with, Books Flexible about working arrangements if in good store Generally close to the city centre

Cons

Whatever respect they had for booksellers has been systematically eroded over time to the point that the 'world's best search engine' t-shirts are grating.

Pros

I worked and still remain friends with some fabulous people and for a few years I was able to get books at an affordable price (signed copies from branches that hosted authors, proofs etc.).

Cons

One manager robbed some of the staff (head office did nothing) and then he was replaced by a bully who drove long service staff out of the company with lies and intimidation (she is still there and seen by head office types as a bit of a character).
