Pros
It's an exciting time to be at Wagepoint right now. It's neat to see it's really evolving beyond that start up mentality and developing the processes to more effectively grow and develop as a company. There is so much potential for the company's growth and they are putting things in motion to get there. They work environment is great - I feel trusted and empowered and supported in my role. I love working with great teams of people who are so passionate about our customers and our work, and care so much about each other. Management expects a lot but also gives a lot of trust and support, which I appreciate. I'm learning all the time, and given the chance to try things and raise ideas. I thoroughly enjoy my role, the flexibility to work remotely, and think the pay and time off/benefits are fair (which they continue to invest more into). The company is always improving and listening to their employees, and actually implement improvements. I think if you are willing to think outside the box, push things forward, and take on responsibility in an environment of passionate people, you'll love it here.
Cons
Generally just typically growing pains. There is some baggage from some challenges we've had in the past that I think prevents us from moving forward in a positive way. When you only have that context and aren't thinking about other company environments or how to move forward, it's hard to see reality clearly. You can see that there are useful things being worked on or put in place to combat this, but it's still an upward battle and the team is constantly feeling the stress and overwhelm. There is a lot on the go and so much being done to advance the company, but it just always feels like a lot to handle, so there is still a ways to go before it feels like there is space for joy and personal fulfillment etc.
