Some of the best creative opportunities in Boston
Pros
If you are an editor, animator, designer, or writer looking to build your portfolio, this is the place to be in Boston. There is tons of variety – no two jobs are ever alike – and you’ll get a chance to work on high profile entertainment brands that your friends at other agencies will be very jealous of. Viewpoint also has a great culture. Despite the prestige of some of the brands they work with, they take an unpretentious, blue-collar approach to the work. You won’t find a lot of big egos to contend with. And they value work-life balance. You work hard for eight or nine hours and then call it a day. The designers and editors are both super talented and super chill - a rare and great combination.
Cons
The pace can be pretty relentless compared to bigger agencies. You’ll almost never be asked to stay late or work on weekends, but you’ll need to get the work done, and get it done fast. Viewpoint caters mainly to the entertainment and video niche, which is it’s own subcategory of agency. If you had to pick your niches, you couldn’t do much better, but you may start to get concerned about showing more range in your book after a while.
