I have been working at Tractor Supply full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Balance of work life, great track record of results, benefits are decent, able to go to Nashville every year. Monthly bonuses are nice when you make sales plan. Community involvement and events is a huge win. Culture is on the decline but still a great place to work.

    Cons

After achieving store manager status you have little room for advancement unless you move to Nashville. District managers are "yes" men and not great liaisons between the store and support center and act like corporate robots. Unrealistic sales plans for certain stores while other stores get adjustments year after year making bonuses much harder to attain for some. Pricing in areas can be different meaning our customers and employees can pay more than for product than those at a store 20 miles away. Some store managers make more money than seasoned veterans with bigger volume stores simply because of their location. RVP's refuse to see "real life scenarios" being played out in front of them and need to go back to their roots. Payroll cuts in the busiest months because of egregious errors in budgeting sales plans in other months. Company promotes to "do the right thing" but often does not live by its own decree. Store Manager bonus program is outdated and many categories cannot be controlled by the Store Manager. Minimum hire age now 18 eliminating many of our customers who get jobs through FFA

    Advice to Management

Go back to putting people first. Once upon a time there were people named Joe Scarlett and Jim Wright that would not stand for their employees to be put on the backburner. We used to have a family atmosphere now it seems it is only about investors and money. REDISCOVER YOUR ROOTS! See above for more advice!

I have been working at Tractor Supply full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Monthly bonuses if sales are made, flexible scheduling, mostly laid back management, store isn't open too long (8-8/9) and major holidays are given off

    Cons

Labor intensive, long days standing and walking on concrete and working out in sun occasionally, must be a very flexible person or this job won't suit you,

    Advice to Management

Steady schedules posted, hire people who will stay

I worked at Tractor Supply full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Customers, routine, discount, sales bonuses (when qualified) lots of training although some meaningless paid holidays stocks and insurance, promotions available

    Cons

Upper management not caring about the hard work and dedication their team is putting into their job. Over working and under paying their management teams.

    Advice to Management

Stop pushing your initiatives. Your customers are annoying and your team is annoyed. Stop with the daily calls every day saying your team isn’t doing good enough because their numbers are low on NC and all of those other initiatives. You’re lucky their making sales considering they’re trained to solicit and annoy people.

I worked at Tractor Supply full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

the company does offer a shared sales bonus on top of regular pay

    Cons

, but the requirements to get said bonus since i've been employed have been unrealistic. on top of all of that you are expected to pretty much hold customer's hands as they shop, while stocking 50+ lbs bags of feed all day and expect to not make much there.

    Advice to Management

fix everything or pay your employees better
