    Pros

    This is a good place to start a career IMO. The culture they have created is great and one of the reasons they continue to attract top talent. The people that work here are great, as well.

    Cons

    The work itself is non-rewarding or enjoyable. Management's strategy is constantly changing making it very difficult to know where the company is heading.

    The relaxed dress code, the ability to work from home, having a cafeteria to order food for lunch, free coffee.

    Cons

    The extremely low salary for the amount of work that employees do on a day-to-day basis. The PC culture where you literally have to tread lightly in making sure that you do not offend people as most of the company is centered around hiring kids out of college. The constant turnover rate in which others have to pick up the slack for the department to ensure that customers are "taken" care of. Management is quickly to... throw others under the bus, even if the management is involved in the situation they are quick to cast blame on a lower employee to make sure that their career is safe from any disciplinary actions. The company plays favorites with certain employees, and the room to move up within a department depends on how "buddy-buddy" you are with senior leadership. New hires are required to work 11:30am to 8:30pm, which the hiring manager mentions that there is a $3k premium increase in pay, but once you're able to begin working new hours at 9am-6pm, you lose that premium pay. Also, if you want to apply for a promotion, you have to apply on the company website and have to go through the same interview process as someone who has applied for the position that is not currently employed with the company. If you are working 9am-6pm and are offered the promotion, you can expect your hours to change back to working 11:30am-8:30pm, which makes it harder to have a life outside of work, especially if you have a family. Don't expect to be included in any of the company's events is you're not part of the sales, business development, and marketing department. The company invests more in those departments than RFS, merchandising, accounts payable, and their IT department.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your employees to make sure that the retention rate is high. Many of the current customers are tired of the high turnover rate in critical depart that the customers are taking their business to competitors because those companies actually invest in their employees and care about them. Look at increasing the starting salary for new analysts that are coming to RFS. There is no reason that an entry level... position that requires a bachelor's degree has a starting salary of $38K. This is such a joke, and is way below the market salary for this position based off of the BLS. Take the time to interact and include employees that are not part of sales, business development, and marketing. I don't know how many times I have heard employees that are not able to take part in those events how this company is going down the drain because they only want to look at rewarding those three departments and completely forgets about the other critical departments. Take the time to actually get to know your employees and treat them as an important part of the company instead of just a "number." Customers are tired of having new people take over their accounts and have to constantly explain problems that they have been working with previous employees that they have just had enough and have realized that ScanSource is not a company to do business with and are taking their businesses to competitors, this has contributed to the year end 2019 loss for the last two quarters which has caused the company to sell off its foreign offices, causing people to lose their jobs.
