Pros

Good tips and busy place

Cons

Tips needed to be declared and we're taxed which defeats the whole purpose of tips, few tables given to each employee, rude management.

Pros

The employee discount ranges between 25-50% off at restaurants, but you have to pay for the discount each paycheck. Oh, and a small gym that employees have access to. And that's it .

Cons

I left for a much better offer elsewhere so this review is not written out of spite. Landry's was the worst job experience I've had to date. I, along with everyone else I was close with on the marketing team, was insanely overworked and underpaid. Insurance was not affordable and you even have to pay for an employee discount. Isn't that supposed to be free because they appreciate the work you do for your employer? You don't get a sign on bonus or a yearly raise (at least I never did) and our end of year bonus was barely enough to fill my car's gas tank twice. They don't have proper maternity leave either. WFH options don't exist, even during the height of the pandemic you were expected to come into the office. Salaries were cut 50% at the start of pandemic for all the hardworking employees for a year and we worked at least double the hours pre-pandemic. Last I checked, not a single Rockets' basketball player's salary was cut. An employee assistance program for $1mil was started in April 2022 for the 40,000 employees that were furloughed. Do the math, that's $25 for each employee that was let go. Best part is that they had the press write articles about it to make the CEO look better and not a single dollar of that fund was dispersed to the employees. Management claims not to know anything about it ironically. The environment and work culture was beyond toxic. Favoritism runs this department so if you're not BFFs with the directors then prepare to feel like used kitty litter. I wouldn't apply here unless you're absolutely desperate for a job and this is your last resort.

Pros

There is a company cafeteria with affordable meals, you get discount at restaurants, they give away alcohol frequently, tons of office parties, free soda, and kolaches on Fridays.

Cons

They have a very high turn over rate with employees in all depts, so they are always short handed. The work load is very heavy and you get one week training to learn it all. There is a ton of gossip and office drama going on all the time. The company in general lacks structure and organization. Many employees fear asking questions or even letting anyone know they are uncomfortable so the pattern is to just quit or be fired. I wish i was warned before i started working there but i was blinded by all the benefits.
