Hi, Thank you for your review. We’re happy to hear that you at the very least enjoyed working with your colleagues. We strive to have a work environment which fosters collaboration and teamwork. However, we’re sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your time with us. Especially if you experienced sexism. We are on a learning path when it comes to uncovering our biases, which is why we have a Diversity and Inclusion Council, which is mapping out how GetYourGuide can improve and move forward in being a company where everyone can bring themselves to work. We always encourage to actively take part in the feedback and review cycles to ensure that there is a transparency about the performance of each individual and the team as a whole. Also, learning is one of our core values and we always encourage learning and career growth through 360* feedback rounds and talking with your manager about growth in your 1 on 1s. We strive to pay competitive salaries which are adjusted to the market rate changes through regular research done by our HR team and we conduct regular market research regarding salaries, to ensure that we are competitive with the market to the point of paying above market rate. Our OKRs help provide a clear direction for the quarter and the quarterly review process is a structured way for employees to provide feedback on these goals before the quarter begins. We have also invested in establishing performance review cycles, 360 feedback, and creating competency profiles for all employees, so everyone knows what it takes to develop further. Thank you for providing this feedback and best of luck in your future career. Kind regards, GetYourGuide

    Pros

    Cool office space. Free pizza.

    Cons

Once you join just make sure you don't speak up. Middle management pretends to care but use your feedback against you and put you on a performance improvement plan to improve your attitude. HR won't back you up either as they blindly follow and support managers. Favoritism is not being hidden. Drink and party with your manager and you'll get your promotion. Before you consider Getyourguide watch the movie "the circle". Reminds me alot of GetYourGuides culture. A sect culture. But hey..... They give free pizza and beer hurrrraayyyy!

    Pros

    Cons

A lot of broken promises, micromanagement, giving you a hoodie for Christmas instead of a better treatment or salary. Surfing on the "we are a family" vibe.

    Pros

Some nice and friendly coworkers and the location

    Cons

An extremely toxic environment full of narcissist managers and people, where there is lots of favoritism. If you want to innovate or have a great idea it´s not going to be taken into consideration, so forget about it, you don´t have the right to be heard but criticized, judged, and not being appreciated. Sadly great and people have left or being fired because of this micromanagement and toxic competition, where you are brainwashed that this is the best company on earth and if you disagree about this fact, you are a threat. Most of the benefits were taken away, lower payment than other companies where you have to work extra hours without any appreciation that doesn´t make sense, no educational budged to be used, no learning here nobody is important to grow professionally, lots of people have been fired due to Corona situation. Working home office has been just a nightmare full of stress and despair. I highly recommend to not to apply and get a job in this company because it´s a discusting place. Hope you will go on bankruptcy!

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to write this review. We are happy to hear you liked your colleagues and appreciated the growth opportunities. We do understand that working in a fast-paced and growing environment like GetYourGuide comes with its challenges. Some of our processes and workflows do have room for improvement and we are constantly learning as we’re growing. We hope you used the opportunities to ask questions and address improvement areas about feature release issues or any other miscommunications you’ve encountered in your talks with your team, your one-on-one feedback sessions with your manager, and in our monthly Global Update Q&A’s with the Executive team. We also recently launched our new learning platform GrowthHub, with courses, tools, and resources for personal and team development. Thanks again for your review, your feedback is appreciated. We wish you all the best in your future career, GetYourGuide

    Cons

Management are just drones, they all repeat thecsame gyg catch phrases its likevtgey have all been brainwashed its actually quite scary, sometimes i feel like im trapped in a horror movie. I could not recommend this place to anybody I care about its simply depressing. Management seem to think because they had a lot of funding over the last couple years we are some how honoured to work their. But ive had much better jobs and besides there is no career path gyg likes to fire people because it makes them feel all powerful. And even if you havent been fired you wont get a promotuon unless you go drinking with the right boss and massage their ego for 6 months. Overall rating?? This place is a joke! Besidea looking at the current situation gyg wont be round much longer. Im actually looking forward to it!!!

I have been working at GetYourGuide full-time

    Pros

There are some really good people, but these are individuals surrounded by arrogant and toxic people.

    Cons

The 5 values mentioned are not reflected in what is done, existing employees are not important for the company. You can clealry see the teams that are favored by the leaders. It’s not inclusive, all internal initiatives are done to improve the pr and brand image of the company. All the feedback provided by non favorites is ignored or laughed at. There is no learning environment, if you mKe a mistake there’s retaliation from your own manager. Managers give a lot of pressure on teams to “convince” them to follow their decisions, and if you don’t or have a different opinion, you get fired or get mobbing pressure to leave. They mention increasing the expertise level of employess with new hires to bring experience and expertise relevant to the Business. A big chunk started and left in less than a year. The reason, they hire experts and experienced people, but the level of expertise and experience of the managers is not increased. So many have managers that are i experienced and lack the expertise to manage the skill level of their own teams. Many positions are given out to people without a proper interview process, based on individual decisions of management. Not sure why HR allows these things to happen, there is no HR team dedicated to help employees that are having issues with their manager. If you have issues or are having trouble to get along with your manager, it’s best to leave. HR backs and supports the company favorites, so you have no help or support to find a solution, and they help cover up by removing the role that was actually helping us, saying it was not needed anymore. So all the feedback and complaints and requests for help, have all been thrown out just by removing a role. Almost none of the benefits that were promised when i was hired, have been removed or reduced after being hired. Including free breakfast, the bi-yearly meetings, the learning budget (only some teams actually have and can use this). Companies grow, but behaviors, ethics, and examples and integrity should never be compromised, in order to achieve targets or revenue. The extreme differences and favoritisms between teams, is really too much and people have had enough, especially if they have been around for a while, as this feedback has been given and ignored for a long time. There is also a lack of encouragement to speak up and ask hard questions. Until some time ago we could ask questions anonymously during the company meetings, but this was immediately removed and forbidden after 1 incident where the leaders got really tough questions but didn’t have he possibility of identifying the requesters. The reason provided, was that there are already other channels for anonymous feedback. Nonone knows if anyone is reading any of the feedback provided by the anonymous channels, nothing is ever shown or mentioned about them, no action ever comes out of that feedback. An example of internal PR, is the ERG. Completely useless and again full of favoritisms in who is in the group and in which teams will actually be helped. They have done nothing for the people, apart from allowing 1 person to justuse this for their own career.

    GetYourGuide Response

Hello, Thank you for the time you took to provide your insights in this review, we appreciate your opinion. We are glad you enjoy the colleagues you work with. We are continually looking for new ways to improve the benefits we offer our employees so any feedback you may have on that will be of value. Feel free to reach out to the People team with your ideas. It is important for us to stress that favoritism or lack of inclusion are not tolerated at GetYourGuide by any means. It is in GetYourGuide’s philosophy that people are encouraged to ask difficult questions in person or with their name so that a constructive conversation can be led that will be beneficial to everyone. Additionally, the anonymous monthly employee engagement survey get reviewed by Talent Development - they take learnings from it and work on improvements. If you feel you cannot safely provide feedback during your one-on-one meetings with your manager directly, we encourage you to go to your second level manager, HR services, or the Employee Representation Group (ERG). The core mission of the ERG is to ensure that every employee feels valued, safe, and heard. We are a bit confused about the perception you have that ERG members might be chosen based on favoritism because all 9 members hold different positions in different departments and were elected by the employees. We are expanding growth opportunities within the company and recently rolled out our new learning platform GrowthHub, which is available for the entire company with courses, tools, and resources for personal development. We’d also like to share that all managers attend management training and strive to learn continuously. We strongly believe employees should own their development with the support of their manager and encourage you to initiate this conversation with your manager and seek out growth areas. E.g. through GrowthHub, taking on challenging projects, and addressing your goals in your one-on-ones and bi-yearly review cycles. We hope that you are able to use the different options to your advantage. All the best, GetYourGuide
