Pros
Interesting projects, hard problems, not a boring day in the office, you learn a lot.
Cons
1) Management is very micro-managing. They need to be involved in EVERY meeting and make the decisions. Otherwise, you need to re-do your work. 2) Management can't seem to make up their mind when it comes to processes. One day they will say something should be done THIS way. The next day, they will say it needs to be done THAT way. Then you have to re-do your work. 3) While I can't explicitly state the title of this person, one of the managers is a toddler dressed up in an adults clothes. He will yell at employees and stomp his feet who don't do things the way he sees fit. If you are an electrical engineer or tech, God help you. 4) The company is only ~90 employees. It shouldn't be that hard to change processes to make things more fluid. And yet, NOTHING ever changes. The system is clunky at best, and in-efficient and incorrect at worst. 5) Their SOP documentation is flat out incorrect and contradicts itself in multiple ways, and getting management to approve changes takes forever. Most likely, it will not change (see items 1 and 4). 6) The company is cheap and will not provide the right tools to do the job. They do not believe in spending money in order to get the job done right. 7) PMs don't pay attention to their schedules. They will continually push things in front of other things, and then wonder why due dates are not being met. The PMs don't really mange the projects. They ask for a date in which something can be finished and then make the due date 3 days before that. 8) Management (especially one of higher ups) don't trust their engineers. They have to explain something to YOU, rather than actually listen to their employees who got the degrees in their field. They will flat out not believe you and argue against you if they don't agree with the SCIENCE and PHYSICS of engineering. 9) The company has been having serious issues with products having production problems. They pull support from engineering, who then can't work on finishing up the NPI products. Then management wonders why all the projects are late and past due. 10) Morale is at at an all-time low in the company and management doesn't seem to think there is a problem even though the engineers are leaving in droves.
