Pros
-Good allowances. -Good annual bonuses when the market is booming. -Great machinery and tools to experiment and learn on your own, just note that no one will teach you, the tools and systems are imported without proper training and most of the staff are of little to no experience dealing with these tools properly. -Impressive canteen.
Cons
-Mediocre, mediocre, mediocre. Very outdated management, poor staff, and a very high turnover of qualified calibers, while the average tenure of old managers is around 20 years. -Poor work/life balance. -Lack of governing systems and rules, managers are basically in absolute control of their subordinates, the audit and ER departments have very limited authority. -Family business, some of the close family friends run the show and are simply untouchable, they do make mistakes and are very inexperienced but then again they are well protected by their personal ties to the owner. -Very poor and unreliable appraisal system. -Nepotism is on the rampage, especially at Alfanar Trading where the people in charge are aggressively xenophobic and discriminatory. -Limited room for progress if you are not good at flattering and complimenting all the time.
