Pros

Remote work Friendly coworkers Swag

Cons

To do well here, you need to really drink the start-up kool-aid, meaning you need to really believe in the product and be ok with being paid less to drink the kool-aid. You will be paid in stock in hopes of the company becoming successful. No salary transparency (you won’t find salary ranges on job postings), No 401k match, no annual bonus, no stipend of any kind, the only benefits are the basic healthcare, dental, vision, and option to buy company stock in 1 year. Start ups are a huge risk, with no incentives for the now, but in exchange they offer you “a chance to build your career”. Little to no diversity on the teams.

Pros

Good people, policies and products. It’s a start up environment and only self starters with egos on check will be successful. That’s a good thing but not for everyone. The work is novel and requires discipline and open minds. Cool opportunities.

Cons

The company grew fast and built the infrastructure by staffing to build which is done and that has meant layoffs. There’s been confusion with some employees not realizing it’s a start up.

Pros

Work from home gives flexibility

Cons

Mismanagement of the company by the CEO and entire SLT who have no basic understanding of how to deliver a tech solution. We have experienced numerous layoffs this year and after each one we are told that if we survived, we are on the bus only to see more layoffs shortly follow. After this last one it is clear things are dire and it is time to find a new job. The CEO, a self admitted failure in all aspects of her life, is lashing out at employees under the pressure. She is unable to come to terms with how her poor leadership and constant pivoting in the wrong direction have now put us in a situation where we only have a smoke and mirrors solution to peddle in an attempt to make year end numbers. There is no product there! It is really ironic she was giving company wide leadership training. Our CIO and COO have overinflated egos who bully their way into solutions that consistently fail and have been a contributing factor in the company's demise. I’m not sticking around to watch this place go down in flames.
