Pros
The medical/ dental/ insurance benefits are great! Vacation/ PTO time is generous. One builds relationships with teams and customers. Working environment is nice. Product is easy to sell. Planograms are provided for every floor set. As a manager, I was given a lot of latitude to run the store as I saw fit- great for someone who is self-motivated.
Cons
Recent payroll constraints make single-person coverage a necessity. This brings security/ safety priorities into question. Back room storage and shipments- especially in Q4- are horrendous! Lack of storage again calls safety issues into question; off-site storage is not an acceptable solution. The employee discount is no better than the coupons that are issued to the public. Budgets are often not sent until the quarter is half-over, and those budgets are awfully high to attain. My DM had no leadership skills, and talking to HR about it yielded no results. The review process is not a 360-degree review. Secret shops are very stressful, especially when coverage is scant due to inadequate payroll dollars.
