Cons

I don't even know where to start. This place is the WORST to work for. My location specifically went through so many girls that it was insane. Most of the sales associates were maybe there for 3 months max. Sales goals were ridiculously high, especially if you're working slow days like week days or really short shifts. The only person who at least black-dotted consistently every week was the general manager. Who, by the way, stole sales regularly for the other sales associates. Which, can be defined in two ways: 1. She knows you're helping a customer, but then inserts herself into the situation and tries to help more than you when you were already with that customer. Customer then has to choose one person to give sales credit to and they usually chose the general manager when that happened. 2. General manager would put her name for the sales when she'd be at the cash wrap. Not only this, but the general manager would 90% of the time be behind the cash wrap staring at the computer. Even the hard-working assistant managers were usually helping out on the floor! In addition, if you're working opening or closing, good luck. You get an hour to prepare the store in the morning, while the manager working will check the computer. Some days, like Thursdays, you'll have an extra duty like changing the mannequins. That takes up way more time on top of the long checklist you already have. Then, you run up to the bank. Sometimes I really needed that one extra sales associate that we'd never get. But, if you're closing, sometimes you're on time and other times you won't be out for another hour. The hours always fluctuated, especially if a new girl (or several) gets hired that week! The new girls always started out with like 15 hours while I would have maybe 10 within my second month. And, your hours do depend on your sales. Those insanely high sales goals that pretty much no one can achieve. And if you do achieve a black dot, you're really surprised. Also, if it's a busy day like the weekends, we'd always be understaffed. And, if you can't keep your eye on everyone in your section where you're assigned and you end up finding sensor tags because of shoplifters, you are then blamed and written up. There is only so much you can do at one time. The clear purses weren't too bad, but I noticed that the managers got to take their purses in with them. The music was a hit or miss. But, you'd get used to hearing the same music every shift and it was seriously annoying. The dress code was alright. The one thing that really bothered me happened to be about which shoes you can and cant' wear. I would be working anywhere from 4 to 8 hour shifts and my feet would hurt so badly to the point where I brought multiple bandaids to put on my feet, I'd wear insoles, go to the bathroom just to sit down and rub my feet multiple times in a shift because I couldn't wear shoes with any support in them. Most of the girls wore heels, gladiators, or cute boots, but it's not realistic when you're on that hard flooring all day. I had to buy a really expensive pair of shoes that were nowhere near being cute but I didn't really care about what they looked like since they were technically OK by the dress code. I got injured on the job and the manager on duty told me that it wasn't worth filling out a workplace injury form. I should've known better and should have demanded it, but seriously? Overall, a horrible place to work for. They give you fluctuating hours, horrible pay for all of the work you do, the general manager just stands around all day reading emails, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Why do you think they go through so many employees?
