Pros
You get to work from home. You get to experience a disorganized company. It is a great job if you only want to earn a three-figure salary!
Cons
They pulled a bait-and-switch. I applied for the full-time position and got placed as a part-time PAR employee instead even though I have many years of engineering experience, have a California Structural Engineer License, and an ICC certificate for building plans examiner. They became upset because I had a full time job when their offer letter stated I find a full time job as they do not offer any employee benefits. My start date was supposed to be mid-February, but it did not happen until mid-April. I had to remind them about this issue. I had to interview for the full-time position again and never heard from the Manager for over 3 months. They are very disorganized. They have offices closer to my home, yet did not even have anyone review my paperwork for employment. I never got to finish any of my building plan reviews at all. I only worked 12 hours total since I started in April and have had no work since mid-May.. If this is how they handle prospective employees, imagine how they treat their full-time employees and even their clients.
