Pros

The culture is great and when I was there they paid for lunch

Cons

Super low pay, ranging from $9-12 an hour for Level 1 & 2 technicians, keep in mind the market average is 40,000 a year. The executives gave themselves raises while keeping the entry level worker wages stagnant and/or LOWERED. You can tell the executives hoard the money, I caught a glimpse of the revenue sheets and trust me, they're not paying you your fair share in the profits.

WheelHouse IT Response

As a CEO that takes extreme pride in the business and cares deeply about the team that keeps us moving, I feel that is it important that I respond to this feedback. Sadly, most of the information posted is both false and misleading. I am happy to explain how we have crafted the entry-level positions here at WheelHouse IT as it is the only item that maybe relevant. The entry level positions (once called paid internships), are not the highest of salaries in the $12 an hour range. Our entry-level positions by design are meant for people with a basic IT knowledge. We are looking for raw talent that we can train. These team members work on simple tasks as they ramp up and learn. Some team members progress faster than others as they demonstrate drive, ability to learn and work ethic. Other team members don’t work out or may progress slower than their co-workers. We provide 3-4 times more training and mentoring time for our entry-level position than any other position; for the goal of team member success and promotability. This year we have launched WheelHouse University which is an online platform where we upload content for training, and our instructors and mentors can track the progression of our team members. There are three core reasons our entry-level positions are at a lower salary: • Increased training and mentoring time • We are a company of higher than normal Benefits (vacation and sick time, Health, Dental, Vision, FSA, 401k with a high match, company phone, lunch, frequent company events and much more) • These positions have been designed to have downtime due to a lack of access to handle more complex tasks as a result of lack of experience If an entry level team member leaves in their first 3-6 months, it’s a loss to the company but a risk we take. As most are successful and maintain rapid forward movement; including promotions within the first 6 months in our rapidly growing company. Through our strong partnerships with local universities, the professors we partner with have praised WheelHouse IT as the best move for their student's entry-level career; so much so that Broward College has created the below video to showcase this. It has been expressed time and time again by these same professors that WheelHouse IT’s entry-level positions would still be an advantageous move for their student’s career; even if we brought them in as unpaid interns for the entry-level positions.
