Employee retention is awful. Especially management. In one location alone, the E.D. has changed at least 4 times within 5 years, the Administrator changed at least 6 times in 5 years, and the DON changed at least 8 times in 5 years. This led to some staff being retained even when they shouldn't have, only because the person in charge of those people didn't know the history of the problem staff members.
Management fills in staffing gaps with agency people who really don't care to be there. I know numerous residents who were treated poorly by agency staff.
Housekeeping, laundry, and CNA's are the employees who are treated the worst. But without them, the place wouldn't be able to run, literally.
Management and upper management supposedly care about their employees, but actions speak louder than words.
If you have the courage to report issues, a target is placed on your back.
Most people just put their head down, pretend that they can't see what's going on, don't offer an opinion, do their job and go home. No pride taken in their work though.
