Pros
I love it here! Make no mistake, you WILL work hard. But at least in my division and region, they try to let you play hard too. Being part of the management structure, I can confidently say that employee well being is definitively a part of the decision making by my bosses at the division level. I'm not perfect and neither are the folks above me, but I'll gladly put up with any inconveniences I've encountered so far to be part of a crew that gives their best to build a culture that truly reflects are values. The higher up you go, the greater the burden to create and maintain a great culture becomes. Maybe I'm just lucky to be where I'm at. I have no doubt that other regions and divisions may be worse or different. I'm grateful to be here and highly recommend people check the company out to see if it is a good fit for them too. I feel that what I do matters and I can earn the ability to make good things happen for those around me. My boss makes me feel valued, actively works to coach me, and will shoot me straight when I mess up or make a poor call. Compared to what I came from before, I couldn't have hoped to find a better gig.
Cons
You can't make everyone happy and sometimes have to make hard decisions. It sucks feeling like you've let your people down. The decentralized structure is awesome in a lot of ways. But it can also make it hard to maintain the same quality in management and work environment across the board. I wouldn't change it. But it can be a downside for some. Good management fits seem to be hard to find. This can stretch management too thin to give the care and attention they want to for their people, or it can result in management being stuck with someone in a position that may not be the best or right person for that team or job.
