Pros

I took this job thinking that people would be happy to be here, but have not found one person that is. There are several higher ups that seem delighted to belittle those below them, but I don't know if they are truly happy to work here. I am excited to work with so many people who are college educated and care about diversity and serving the public one lawyer at a time, and am waiting for the moment where I can say: "I love my job". Will this happen? Can someone tell me why so many people quit this place? But then there are quite a few "job clingers" here, too. The health insurance benefits are good, so I think that's why those clingers stay. I started on the 2nd of the month that I started here, and my health insurance kicked in right away. BRAVO!! That is THE BEST thing about working here so far. It's only been a few months of my tenure, so I am hopeful that things will change for the better here.

Cons

There are some very angry employees here. I understand that it is hard to deal with attorneys. I understand the 80/20 rule and that the 20% will yell, be demanding, etc. But dealing with both angry members and angry fellow employees is very hard to take. And do we need so many staff and other meetings? And do we need so many outdated modes of doing things? I hate to say this, but this place needs a major overhall. Out with the old and in with the new, starting with upper management. The WSBA might even benefit from being unionized. I do want to stay here, if the energy of the organization improves. I am tired of looking for work and want to stay somewhere. I am confused. Can something be done to make this a happier place?
