Pros

Easy Job, great co-workers, manager typically approves all days/shifts requested that you need off. Fun place to work. Able to earn extra money by selling specific items. Great benefit packages.

Cons

Manager does not know how to make a schedule to save his life! Working 40 hours with split days off one week, then the next week working four days straight with 3 days off. Constantly switching you from opening to closing shifts. Pay is not good for the work that is expected. No room for advancement, well there is but if you ask one of my bosses, because we have 5, he will openly tell you hes a single broke man and walgreens doesn't pay him squat. Favoritism Weird rules for breaks. If you work day shift, you get 2 15 minute breaks and a 30. if you work night shift you only get one 15 and a 30. They say because the night shift has to prepare for closing and are too busy to take that extra 15. Which is not true, night shift is the most boring shift, and even tho we close at midnight, we are typically done with closing routine by 10pm.

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
