Pros

+ Good pay for the work + Solid benefits + Good work/life balance; I was never bothered on my days off and never expected to work an open to close. In fact, they have a policy where if you work past 10 hours in a day, you automatically get overtime pay for the day. As someone who was stuck at work all day after co-workers called out and the store manager refused to come in, that's a big plus. + They have a process for everything you do in-store, but unlike most places I've worked the processes actually make good sense and are not overly complicated. + I know this is more subjective, but the store manager and DM I worked with were both really great people to work for. I had a medical emergency around Christmas of 2016 (just a month and a half after I started) and missed almost a week of work; they were both extremely helpful throughout, working with me on my schedule and making sure I had someone else in the store in case I had another issue until I was okay. Most places I've worked wouldn't go to that length.

Cons

- It's a customer service job, with all the cons that brings. Some customers can be really difficult, but nothing too far out of the ordinary. - I dislike the management dress code for men; it's a dress shirt with tie and vest. I understand you want your management to look professional, but you also have to think about being practical, and unloading a 400+ piece truck in a shirt and tie is not really fun. Even if you had the option of wearing a store polo on truck days, that'd be super great.

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
