Cons
It's known in the industry, and in related industries (like health care providers in the area) how terribly WPS has been treating its employees since the change in management. In fact, people that go work there now are thought to be desperate ... (or really young and don't know any better). And, like other reviewers said, they are sneaky and deceitful about it, and that behavior in upper management is rewarded. Where this company prides itself on being one of the most "ethical companies" in the U.S., they certainly are not in their employment practices. If you are hired at a very low level and keep your head down, you may be all right, in the right departments. All others, good luck to you. If "they" decide they don't want you any longer, if you have a child or spouse that gets ill which requires you to miss work, or for any other reason, you will find yourself gone. And then they try to pretend like they terminated you "for cause" so they can deny you unemployment compensation -- or is it to get out of paying severance which is an employee benefit for laid-off employees? Maybe it's both! If what they are doing is not illegal, it is certainly unethical. It won't be long before they are sued or complaints are brought to authorities about their underhanded practices. And perhaps that's already happening. Hopefully the hatchet men and women have some trouble sleeping ... or worse and their consciences bother them. Not counting on it though.
