Pros
The pay for phlebotomists is decent, and you can experience in phlebotomy. Most of the donors you meet are super nice, and quite a few have become personal friends.
Cons
The experience you get as a phlebotomist doesn’t count towards clinical experience. The hours are long, and you get slammed with more work than what you can handle. The upper management doesn’t care about you, and regional management would rather have someone who spreads lies and rumors about staff- as a supervisor. There is no opportunity for job growth unless you’re a nurse, and even then it’s few and far in between. This is an extremely toxic work environment to be avoided at all costs.
