Top 3 pros: - The culture is authentically strong. Viasat is loaded with good people who are generally smart, care about the teams and projects they work with, and there are minimal toxic politics. - Generally good benefits. - Continuous learning inside and outside the company is very much supported
Cons
Top 3 cons: - Inexperienced and incompetent management (VP and up) make bad decisions constantly. They bet on the wrong strategies and programs, hire the wrong people, have failed to modernize into a customer-centric company. To make matters worse, A LOT of execs hire their family members. I have never seen so much nepotism. It’s very odd at a publicly traded company. - Below market salaries, very low or no annual bonus, very low or no annual RSU’s. - Huge layoffs in 2023 with no end in sight due to bad strategies combined with satellite launch failures. The cuts prioritized employees with high compensation regardless of their importance to the company. Morale is extremely low due to this, and more layoffs are virtually guaranteed in early 2024.
