Pros

Veritas is always at the disposal of its instructors and especially its clients. Ask and you shall receive. And they pay amazingly well -- teaching a class with the SAT 2400 folks pays $40/hr. Great for part-time, hourly work.

Cons

With SAT Subject Test tutoring, the Instructors must often create their own content, which can be time-consuming (although you can get paid for those hours if you offer your lesson plans to the company).

Pros

Veritas has great curriculum and resources for its students, but also encourages instructors to add their own flavor and style to lessons. The result then is that you're always teaching something you believe in and doing it in a way that you can fully get behind. Students are almost always appreciative, committed, and just plain nice, and the company pays well and supports instructors well. I love the culture - really smart people who really care about helping people succeed.

Cons

I end up spending more time than I'd probably want meeting up with students before and after class, responding to emails, etc. Which isn't all bad. I enjoy doing it and the students appreciate it, but I've definitely had a few 3-hour class sessions turn into 4-5 hour evenings.
