Pros
I enjoy the diversity of clients and projects. I also get to work home a couple of days per week and am able to keep my work within working hours most of the time. I am autonomous in my work and have very supportive colleagues I reach out to when I need advice. I also enjoy the mix of strategy and tactics - I provide VP/CMO level strategy to my clients, but also keep sharp by keeping a hand in the implementation of it all. I also like our sweet spot for clients - SMBs. Everything you do has an impact. Some of the initial downsides of Verasolve have been recently rectified. We now have better health benefits (although not on par with a larger organization) and a beautiful new office.
Cons
The nature of the business model can lead to frequent changes and occasional work imbalances. There are downsides in technology (esp. old/heavy laptops, badly configured) and technology support (time suck with external contractor). I think there could be a stronger career path. There is also pretty much no opportunity for training/development. Sometimes if feels a bit like we are cogs in a wheel vs a valuable asset.
