Pros
I worked at Valens for about a year and a half. Starting as an intern, I was thrilled to be given a great deal of responsibility and ownership over substantive projects, as that is certainly rare in internships. The full-time employees were always happy to provide helpful feedback and guidance whenever needed, and the internship was very competitively paid. After my initial internship ended, I was lucky to have the opportunity to continue doing some contract work for Valens, where I continued to appreciate their great flexible working hours and work-from-home policy. Valens does very innovative work, and I highly recommend it to any young people looking to get a meaningful and substantive start in the CT/CVE field.
Cons
As a very small organization, there's not a ton of opportunity for upward mobility. Aside from that, I truly have nothing bad to say about Valens.
