Pros
I have been a part of the VCA hospital network since 2001 and the company has offered me opportunities I would not imagine would have been extended in terms of career track. Many doors to open in this outfit! COVID19 has impacted the routine and job security of so many in our nation. VCA has worked hard behind the scenes to maintain our ability to keep people working and a paycheck coming in. Altered work flows, duty scheduling in cohorts and a genuine interest in keeping us all abreast of what is happening via weekly conference calls are only pieces of a greater whole in the attempt to maintain vision and adherence to our mission statement. The company has counseling hotlines available to those that need some support on the mental and emotional front (particularly at a time when getting to visit a physician in nearly impossible due to stay-at-home directives from the government and the risk of exposure by simply making an office visit). Wellness initiatives such as a free online yoga and mindfulness classes have been made available! These items and so many more make me proud of the company and the genuine attention to it's employees needs. Kudos to all of our team players at every level! You make the difference in our pets and communities lives and VCA supports that at every level!
Cons
Being a giant in our industry can portray many preconceptions in the minds of those that aren't really in the know about our culture.
