Pros
Global management are determined to bring UTEC to the next level and seem willing to make necessary changes to reach these goals.
Cons
Each business unit operates independently and of their own accord despite the development of global policies.
Office politics seem to run the show. Local management try to hard to be everyone's friend, but when it comes to the game, you either play on their team or or don't bother coming to bat.
Old habits die hard. Local management are unwilling to provide proper support and overlook improper business etiquette and ethics to chase the almighty dollar and reach their quota in lieu of the risk they keep sweeping under the rug.
Over utilization of personnel causes dissension and key aspects of each project are overlooked in an effort to "get it done" and get paid.
There is no proactive approach to project management, it's all cookie-cutter, cut and paste.
There is no accountability, rather everyone is quick to place blame and point fingers.
Communication does not flow down from local management to the business unit as information is often shared on a need to know basis only when queried.
There is no concernment for preservation of personal information as it is discussed ad hoc in public forums, meetings, and in general discussion about the office. Everyone knows everyone's business.
There is a great deal of emphasis placed on talking about what needs to be done with meeting after meeting, in lieu of providing direction and/or guidance on objectives and targets.
