Pros
USED TO BE PLENTY - NOW NONE!
Cons
EVERYTHING. OWNER DIED. FAMILY TOOK OVER AND GUTTED IT. THEY STARTED RIPPING OFF THEIR CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES. THEY NEED A CRIMINAL AUDIT. THEY HIRE *RUG A**ICTS. THEY TREAT YOU POORLY FOR MANY YEARS OF SERVICE, WITHHOLD BENEFITS. THOSE WORKING IN THE SUBSIDIARY STATES ARE TREATED LIKE VERMIN. MARIE IS THE WORST. YOU CAN'T KEEP EMPLOYEES FIRING THEM ALL OR DRIVING THEM AWAY. They're always hiring, but DO NOT APPLY. If you buy their services, sue for overages. EVERY CONTACT HAS THEM. They run your bills up on purpose, LOOK AT THEIR REVIEWS, especially as of late. Criminal. CRIMINAL to employees. Criminals in business. I left for my own sanity. I work for the competition. I have better pay, better hours, better treatment, better benefits, and am overall much happier. They just got in bed with the government. That contract needs looked at closely, and those fees even MORE closely. Now that they have that, the rest of their work is small potatoes, not that they did right by their customers, especially warranty work. Those customers would be left waiting months/years for fixes caused by poor workmanship from UPF. The work done getting stuff out FAST is SUBPAR by any standard, partly due to the individuals who replaced many fired experienced workers. The culture is so bad that as people move up for being snakes, they begin getting slack on the work, too. Again, the culture has dictated this. It's wild the tactics employed now. The atmosphere used to make you feel like you were a part of something. Then, the owner passed, I heard, and everything changed. We couldn't take time off. We couldn't get our benefits. We couldn't get overtime, even though pay is HORRIFICALLY LOW for what they charge these companies. $20-$25 an hour? IF THAT? FOR TENURED, EXPERIENCED EMPLOYEES? AT THIS POINT, MCDs IS PAYING AS MUCH. Yet, this is life saving work, and every last person is ripped off, customers to employees - just not corporate. They had such a promising future. All I see is a buyout. There's other companies. Find one that values you and your talent. Keep in mind, without their employees, they're nothing. Yet, they treat the best ones they have as though they couldn't care less if they existed. They hire cheap replacements out of desperation to fill empty spots, who inevitably, don't last long, and do terrible work. Many can't even do what's needed due to their backgrounds/extracurricular activities. You would think those who are good, clean and hardworking would be incentivized to continue on. NO. THEY'RE NOT. THEY'RE PUSHED OUT. I loved who they used to be. Who they are now? Not worth it at all. Marie is probably the worst decision the company has made in a long time. She is the epitome of crooked and treats those under her as though they should be honored to be her subordinates. To withhold benefits earned - criminal. To play corporate games with someone's livelihood? Despicable. I only thought to leave this today after I heard something they'd done to a previous coworker who came on board with myself at my new place of employment. I really was pleased to be in another state, away from the trauma I'd endured, and happy. It's just awful what they do to these employees who gave them their good name. UPF was a solid, trusted name in this field. Now, just look at the reviews from the past few years - from employees, from past employees, from customers.
