Pros
The pay was 16.75 per hour in the city of Denver and the freedom to develop your own schedule is a plus. The people hired to oversee the training process were very considerate, well organized, and engaged the field enumerators in many activities for on site preparation. The job is considerably entertaining because of the poeple you meet in training as well as knocking door to door.
Cons
The job is mindless and lacks any incentive. They would not permit you to work overtime thus allowing you to only work the maximum 40 hours per week and they made sure that they provided a lack of material in order to prevent you from even coming close to that hourly threshold. There was never a moment where I didn't feel like a statstic to fabricate unemployment numbers in this recession.
