Pros

Clearly the benefits in the US are top-notch. Individually, the people are great. I believe most everyone's hearts are in the right place.

Cons

While the intention might have been right - to bring "the best of Ultimate & Kronos together" - the execution has been rough. IMO, at the heart of it is the identity of each company - Kronos, the dominant 800 lb gorilla in the WFM space, paired with Ultimate, the scrappy payroll/HCM underdog (to ADP in midmarket, Workday in enterprise). I came from the U-side, and that underdog, "us against them" mythology (the "300" references and all) was front-and-center to the Ultimate identity, but after the merger, it was hard to tell if UKG is still "Sparta" or a part of the "Red Horde". And nowhere in the Mission/Vision/Values or in establishing the origin story of UKG did we form a unifying identity. "We're United, Kind, and, Growing", "we have unparalleled HCM & WFM", and "we inspire greatness", are all great messages. But without that core internal identity - and often conflicting identity representing/selling/supporting both a dominant WFM and a scrappy HCM - no one seems to know what the "main thing" is anymore. What does this lead to? Everyone is afraid of doing something wrong, so nothing gets done, no decisions made. Following a process & "operationalizing" become the only objective. Nothing bold, Nothing creative. Nothing innovative. No purpose.

Pros

There was once a great company named Ultimate Software, it was destroyed by a hostile takeover from H&F, a private equity firm, and a merger with Kronos to become UKG. There are very few Pros since that time.

Cons

When this company was Ultimate Software, prior to the takeover from H&F and the merger with Kronos, it was a world class company with top shelf people. The company Motto was "People First" and they truly lived by that motto, never a layoff, great working environment and stealer benefits. Since the takeover and subsequent merger with Kronos, to become UKG this company has taken a path of "Money First", which is understandable given the greedy nature of Private Equity Firms like H&F. They have systematically closed most of the offices across the US and have been expanding their footprint in Noida India, for obvious reasons. The leadership that has been put in place by H&F is clearly focused on IPO. And we all know what that means, clean up the books and make the company look as good on paper as possible. Can you say "Lipstick on a Pig". This was once a great company when it was run by Scott and Viv but now it has gone the way of the Private Equity management and is heading for a great fall.
