Pros
Most people stick to a 9-5 schedule, which is great for work/life balance. Helpful to have Berkeley on your resume. Coworkers are friendly and care about their jobs. Higher education is a place where people generally want to do good.
Cons
Pay is not competitive for the SF Bay. Little room for advancement. A lot of favoritism and little transparency or communication with employees about frequent hiring/firing decisions. Its old school, can feel like working for state government. Not much in the way of mentorship or support in growing your career.
