Pros
1. Working at Turas Nua affords you the chance to gain excellent skills which are invaluable if you intend to work in recruitment/HR. 2. By the nature of the work, you will also become very self assured and aware of your own abilities, and how best to use them in your future career. 3. The team on the ground in each office has a great dynamic. People are very supportive of each other. This is a direct consequence of poor management.
Cons
Be wary of the pros I have listed above. To gain any advantage from these you will be subjected to the toxic and poisonous work environment and culture that is Turas Nua. This company is broken from the top down. Its so sad that a company founded with the sole purpose of helping people are wholly unable to help themselves. - Horrendous micro management - You will not be trusted - Promotions continually granted to incompetent people with poor performance records while capable, genuine and accomplished people are left behind. Often promotion is a result of being 'in' or 'friendly' with upper management - No recognition or even acknowledgement of achievements. Instead you are asked "what are you doing about next month?" - DO NOT work a minute more than your contracted hours. Take it from me - there is no thanks, ever, and all extra efforts go completely unappreciated - Incredulous admin demands with some work requiring duplicating and even triplicating of records - Inefficient and un-user friendly software system with major flaws. The system was so bad a replacement was introduced, which turned out to be even worse! - Rather than investing in staff, the company has a track record of investing huge sums in new processes and IT systems which end up being a complete failure. These are also invariably a huge waste of resources spent on training. What's more, the team behind the development and planning of these failures are never held accountable -If you speak up for the better you will be told to stop being negative and to do your job. If you regularly speak up the company will use bullying tactics, reviews, disciplinaries etc, to make your working life so unbearable that you will resign. Needless to say, the company will carry out these actions (barely) on the correct side of employment law - Unsupportive HR dept. - No perks - Perpetual low morale BEST ADVICE: If you have no other employment options, working for Turas Nua will give you good skills that will help you identify other options. Use to your advantage, but do not allow them to take advantage of you. And get out as quick as you can. I have not correctly stated my job title, location or length of service in this review.
